The Fruton Story
A teacher, a valley,
and a dream
Remona was a beloved teacher at DPS. Dev, her husband, had grown up watching the orchards of Tons Valley go to waste — apples falling unpicked, apricots drying on the ground, generations of farmers selling at throwaway prices.
In 2023, they made a choice that surprised everyone. Remona walked away from her classroom, and together they moved to Mori — a quiet village tucked deep in the Tons Valley of Uttarakhand, far from the noise of the plains.
They started small. A dehydrator. A few crates of locally-sourced fruit. Hours of testing to get the crunch, the taste, the texture right. No chemicals. No shortcuts. Just patience, skill, and a genuine love for what these mountains grow.
Fruton is their answer to a question no one was asking loudly enough: what if Himalayan farmers got what their fruit was truly worth?
